SOC

What is SOC?

SOC is an abbreviation for Strength of Competition. It is a number expressing the chances of your site ranking well for a particular keyword. The SOC tells you how high in the results will your site be shown when issuing a search with a search engine.

The Strength of Competition depends on various factors. The biggest influence on the result has a number of sites, trying to rank for the same keyword.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I calculate the SOC?

You can do it by using third-party software and plug-ins that will tell you how strong the competition is for your keywords.

  • Is strength of competition the same as keyword difficulty?

No, the two concepts are different. Keyword difficulty is a measure of how difficult it is to rank for a given keyword, while the strength of competition is a measure of how difficult it would be to compete against other websites for that keyword.
