in this video i'm going to talk about
how you can expand your income as a
streamer or content creator
through affiliate marketing whether
you're just starting off on a fresh
youtube channel or twitch channel or
you've been seeing some growth in your
channel recently and you want to find a
way to make more of that money online
i'm going to go over how you should get
started with affiliate marketing which
brands you should associate yourself
with
and the biggest mistake i see a lot of
people make when they're first starting
off
let's get into it and for those of you
who don't know me my name is steven and
welcome to my channel where we talk
about
gaming streaming and internet culture so
if any of that tickles your fancy
make sure to hit that subscribe button
and the bell so you can get notified of
whenever i upload a new video now let's
get on to the video
so affiliate marketing is one of the
easiest ways you can start making money
online because you get paid to refer a
company's product to your audience
and you earn a small percentage for each
sale that you make this way of making
business is perfect for content creators
in my opinion because you don't have to
worry about
inventory you don't have to worry about
making sales or dealing with customers
it's something that once you set up you
just focus on making videos you just
focus on streaming and you focus on your
growth because it's something that
scales alongside your growth
so the way it works is that companies
that have affiliate programs will give
you a link to a product
you give that link to your audience and
whenever they make a purchase using that
link
you will be earning a small commission
for that cell naturally you want to
associate yourself with companies that
fit within your niche so let's say that
your niche is gaming
you don't want to sell your audience
lawn mowers because that doesn't
translate well
it doesn't really make sense there's an
article that i found online that's
actually very useful because it has a
list of all the different affiliate
programs for a lot of different niches
so i'll leave that in the description
below alright so straight up let me tell
you about my three favorite companies
that have
affiliate programs that if you haven't
gone into you should definitely consider
getting as a growing creator so that way
you don't have to rely
on your twitch payout or your youtube
adsense to start making
money so number one is the amazon
associate program and this is the big
one i recommend you start off with
because literally everyone does their
online shopping on amazon
and amazon sells just about anything
from gaming gear to clothing to toilets
it doesn't matter what niche you
specialize in or even what platform
you're using to grow your audience
whether it's instagram tik tok or even
facebook your audience is always gonna
be curious about the things that you use
or the things that you recommend them to
use
in my case people are always asking me
which camera i'm using or which
microphone i'm using and i have that all
set up ready with amazon affiliate links
in my descriptions and my about me
it's all there my favorite part about
this program is that whenever someone
clicks on your link there's a 24-hour
cookie where any purchase that they make
even if it's not the thing you
recommended them in the first place you
still earn commission
on those items so i definitely recommend
using amazon for affiliate marketing if
you haven't done that already
all right so number two is geared more
towards youtubers and streamers but it
has the potential to make you so much
money
it is a two buddy browser extension and
if you don't know what tubebuddy does it
integrates directly into youtube it
helps you run your channel
optimize your videos for seo so your
videos can rank higher on the youtube
search engine
tubebuddy has a free version and it has
a pro version i've been using the pro
version
and it's actually been helping me rank
my youtube videos really high on the
youtube search engine because it's been
recommending me which keywords i should
be putting on my title my description
anything to help discoverability on my
videos so why is the tubebuddy referral
program so good well if someone decides
to try out using tubebuddy using your
link and they try it out for free
whenever they decide to upgrade to the
pro version
that's when you start earning commission
even if it's months after they install
it and they also have a recurring
payment program so it's not a one and
done deal
as long as a person keeps using
tubebuddy and paying for it you'll keep
earning commission
and because tubebuddy is so universally
important on people's youtube channel
as long as they keep making videos
they'll keep using tubebuddy and you'll
keep making money
alright and number three is the epic
store's creator code which does have a
requirement of 1 000 followers on twitch
but once you hit that threshold you can
apply to get your own creator code
and a lot of people think it only
applies for fortnite but it also applies
to a bunch of games within the epic game
store it's just that fortnite is the
most popular one
epic games has one of the most generous
referral programs i've personally seen
and i love it because it rewards
creators for streaming their game
for promoting it and if it fits
perfectly in your brand because you're
already playing fortnite then there's
absolutely no reason
why you shouldn't be getting it by the
way if you want to check out these
programs for yourself
i left all of my affiliate links in the
description down below
and speaking of fitting with your brand
when you're looking for a company that
offers affiliate links the number one
mistake i commonly see is that people
take
all the affiliate links and they plaster
them everywhere this one time i went to
this guy's stream and on his webcam
border he had an affiliate link
okay i go say hi to him he's the first
thing he says is like hey stephen have
you heard about this product
here's my affiliate link completely
different from the one on his webcam
and then throughout the stream his mod
kept spamming affiliate links affiliate
links affiliate links for different and
different and different things
the entire stream i felt like i was
watching a commercial just waiting for
the show to actually start
and the show never started because it
was just a constant commercial running
over and over again so i just left
what i'm trying to get at here is that
you never really want to make your
viewers feel like you're just using them
for profit you're just trying to sell
them something
probably something you haven't even
tried yourself when picking a company
you have to consider how that company's
product fits into your niche
if you would personally recommend that
product to your friends and how that's
gonna reflect on your brand
that's why when it comes to affiliate
marketing i'm very picky with the brands
i choose to promote
and the way i introduce them to my
viewers so where should you put your
affiliate links
well on twitch i would actually
recommend that you put them on your
panels in your about section
there's a lot of space there so you can
go crazy and it won't be as intrusive as
something for example like a webcam
overlay
on the other hand if you're playing
something like fortnite it makes sense
that you put your creator code somewhere
in your overlay as long as it's not
distracting or intrusive or just gets in
the way and if you're on youtube the
best place i can recommend is your
video's description
that place is just full of real estate
for you to put all your information down
there
you can actually check mine out and see
how i have everything laid out and sort
of take inspiration from there but yeah
growth is one of my favorite topics to
talk about so if you have any more ideas
feel free to jump into my stream and we
can discuss them there
all right and that's all i have for you
guys in this video make sure you give a
thumbs up if you enjoyed the video thank
you so much for watching
subscribe if you haven't and i will
catch you guys

In this video, Steven talks about how content creators can expand their income through affiliate marketing, regardless of the platform they are using. He discusses how affiliate marketing works and which brands content creators should associate themselves with. Steven also highlights some common mistakes that content creators make and provides tips on how to incorporate affiliate marketing into their brand without being too intrusive.
Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing where a company pays a commission to someone who refers their product or service to others. Content creators are perfect for this type of business because they don't have to worry about inventory, making sales, or dealing with customers. They only need to focus on creating content and growing their audience. This way of making income scales alongside their growth.
It is essential to associate oneself with companies that fit within their niche. If their niche is gaming, they should not sell their audience lawn mowers because it doesn't translate well. Steven recommends using Amazon Associates, TubeBuddy browser extension (for YouTube creators), and Epic Store's creator code (for Twitch creators) because they have generous referral programs that can potentially make a lot of money for content creators.
The biggest mistake that Steven sees content creators make is plastering affiliate links everywhere without considering the product's relevance to their niche. This can make viewers feel like they are being used for profit, and the content creator is just trying to sell them something. It is vital to consider a company's product's relevance, whether content creators would personally recommend it to their friends, and how it impacts their brand.
On Twitch, Steven recommends that content creators put their affiliate links on their panels or about section, where there is plenty of space. For platforms like Fortnite, content creators can put their creator code somewhere in their overlay as long as it is not distracting or gets in the way. On YouTube, the best place is in the video description, where there is plenty of real estate for content creators to put all their information.
Through affiliate marketing, content creators can expand their income and potentially make a lot of money by referring their audience to relevant products or services. Steven's tips on how to incorporate affiliate marketing into their brand without being too intrusive are essential for content creators to maintain a positive relationship with their audience and continue to grow their brand.
Affiliate Marketing As A Small Streamer
Content creators can expand their income through affiliate marketing by associating with relevant brands. Plastering affiliate links without considering relevance can be off-putting to viewers. It's essential to be selective with brands and placement of affiliate links to maintain a positive relationship with the audience. On Twitch, it's recommended to put affiliate links in panels or about sections, while on YouTube, the video description is the best place. Affiliate marketing can be a lucrative income source if done thoughtfully.
