actually avoided very early on i was one
of the first people in the entire
industry to do this and i think it has
really helped me to be successful for
ways that we'll explore in this video
something that i've been doing since
2015 is using photography of my digital
products to help them sell more i know
it sounds kind of crazy because it's a
digital product there's nothing to
actually take a photo of right well
wrong there's so many ways to display
your digital products in different
mediums that can really help to showcase
what they might look like in someone's
life and to help someone see themselves
using it in their life or their business
sometimes people just need that one
little thing that puts them over the
edge in order to make a purchase and i
find that this is a really easy fix if
you've been having some low conversion
rates on your d commerce products
printing out your product and taking a
photograph of someone using it or
putting it into a mock-up that looks
like someone's actually using it which i
think is actually even easier because
you don't have to learn photography or
break out a photograph you can get some
stock images and implant your product
picture into those images i think this
just makes it really easy for people to
visualize themselves using your product
and the future that that product brings
for them and it just makes it a
no-brainer for them to make a purchase
from you in your store today if you are
interested in upping those conversion
rates in five minutes or less because
really that's all it takes to get these
images live on your product pages you
should know that there's a few things
that you'll want your digital download
product photo
to have one thing i like to show is the
cover of my digital download product it
helps to give the customer the
visualization of themselves using your
product but it doesn't reveal any of the
very valuable contents within the
digital product some other photos i like
to include are very limited snapshots of
the inside of my products for example if
i have a nine page product i'll take a
picture of the first substantive page
just so people can get an idea that this
is a really quality piece of work that
they are purchasing and getting into
their hands and
giving them an insight into that first
page shows them what they can expect for
the rest of that digital download
product it's really fair because it
gives them that look that they're
interested in but it doesn't give away
the entire product because even though
it's a template or a workbook or
something like that if we gave them a
picture of the whole product then that
would be easy for them to copy and use
without actually purchasing that would
defeat the whole point of selling this
digital product and we would not have
any money to show for our efforts
however if you don't show anything to
your potential customers if they are new
to you they might be wondering why or
maybe mistrusting you because they feel
like you're trying to hide something
from them another thing i like to do is
kind of related it's a graphical or a
photograph representation of recent
feedback or testimonials i've received
regarding my products and i consider
these a photograph because on most
product description pages they will have
one section for you to put all the media
whether that's a video or a graphic or a
photo or a mock-up on my ideal product
page i would have a thumbnail of the
product obviously so people can easily
spot what they're trying to purchase and
then once they went into that page they
would quickly be able to see a mock-up
of someone similar to them using that
product so they can start to visualize
that in their life or their business and
then i would have
some inside product shots so these could
be a little bit further out so they're
hard to zoom in or i even just take a
screenshot of that first page of my
products that way people can actually
see what they're purchasing and decide
if it's a good fit for them before they
buy it and ask for a refund because it
wasn't a good fit or something and then
i even include graphical representations
of phrases or entire testimonials that i
really want to draw attention to and
highlight for my customers because i
know that even though they're further
down on the product page for me they
might not see that and so i just bring
awareness to it by making it part of
that photograph carousel on the product
page for them because it's a digital
product you can get really creative with
this and you could do something that we
call a mock-up and instead of showing
just a screenshot of a portion of your
product you could actually embed that
screenshot into
an ipad in someone's hands or on a
computer screen that someone has taken a
photograph of you can get really really
creative and have some fun with this
honestly creating these mock-ups is one
of my favorite parts of my job it's
still something that i love doing to
this day i know your product images are
just one small piece of the puzzle which
