How to Translate the Promotion Tips Page in Post Affiliate Pro

Problem definition

Affiliate managers often want to localize the Promotion Tips page in Post Affiliate Pro to make it accessible to affiliates in different languages. Post Affiliate Pro provides tools to make this easy, whether you need the panel in just one language, or want to support multiple languages for your affiliate partners.

This article explains both approaches in simple steps and links to official guides for further help.

Translating the Promotion Tips Page: One Language Only

If your affiliate panel will be used in just one language, you can simply:

  1. Go to Configuration > Design > Affiliate panel theme.
  2. Click Edit theme on your active affiliate panel theme.
  3. Find and open the promotion_tips.tpl file.
  4. Replace its content with your translation (e.g., Japanese, Spanish, etc.).
  5. Save the file—your Promotion Tips page will now appear in your chosen language.

No additional steps are needed. You do not have to use any special tags or work with translation files.

Making the Promotion Tips Page Multilingual

If you want affiliates to use the software in multiple languages, use the custom translations feature:

  1. In promotion_tips.tpl, enclose each new or custom text string you add in double hash marks, like this: ##Share your link on social media!##.
  2. For every language you support, go to Configuration > Languages and open the appropriate language file.
  3. Add your translation for each source string (the text between the ## marks). For example, for “Share your link on social media!”, provide the Japanese, French, etc. equivalents in those language files.
  4. When affiliates select a language, Post Affiliate Pro will automatically show the translated text from the language file.

This way, your custom content will always appear in the chosen language.

For a simple example, your template could include:

##Promotion tip: share your link for more rewards!##

And in your language file, you would add translations for “Promotion tip: share your link for more rewards!” in each language.

Troubleshooting and Tips

  • Nothing changes after saving? Clear your browser cache and reload the affiliate panel.
  • Use UTF-8 encoding to support all characters in your translations.
  • Case matters: Translation tags are case sensitive, so be consistent.
  • Back up your template and language files before making changes.

Best Practices for Managing Panel Translations

  • For simple, single-language use, direct content editing is easiest.
  • For international programs, always use the ##tag## method and keep language files updated.
  • Consistently test your translated panel by switching languages as an affiliate user.
  • Keep a list of all your custom tags and their translations for easy management.
